LinkedIn Sizes and Dimensions (2019 Updated)

To ensure your LinkedIn profile and company pages are attractive and professional, it’s vital that you design the images for your pages with the correct LinkedIn sizes. Doing so will ensure your images and videos are sharp and displayed correctly. Failing to use the appropriate sizes and dimensions could result in your media being blurry.

LinkedIn profile photo size

The correct LinkedIn profile photo size is 400 x 400 pixels. However, whilst that’s the recommended size, it is possible to upload a larger image (no bigger than 4320 pixels in height and 7680 in width), of which LinkedIn will resize for you. Just make sure the image is a square and the file size is not bigger than 8MB.

LinkedIn background photo size

The recommended LinkedIn background photo also known as a LinkedIn cover image is 1536 x 768 in pixels. The minimum size it can be is 1192 x 220 pixels

If you’re sharing a photo via the upload feature on LinkedIn, you’ll want the image size to be either 1200 x 1200 pixels or 1200 x 627. These two sizes will give you the best quality and experience when viewing on desktop and mobile.

LinkedIn carousel photo size

Looking to use LinkedIn carousel ads? You’ll want your image sizes to be 600 x 600 pixels for the best quality.

LinkedIn supported video file formats

If you’re uploading a video file on the professional network, you’ll want to make sure it’s a supported video file type. The below file formats are accepted on the platform. LinkedIn also states they support AAC, MP3, and Vorbis extensions.

LinkedIn video file requirements

When uploading video content to LinkedIn, you need to make sure the media meets the following file requirements, otherwise, it will be rejected from being uploaded.

File requirements:

  • Max file size: 5GB
  • Minimum file size: 75KB
  • Max video duration: 10 minutes
  • Minimum video duration: 3 seconds
  • Resolution range: 256×144 to 4096×2304
  • Aspect ratio: 1:2.4 – 2.4:1
  • Frame rates: 10fps – 60 fps
  • Bit rates: 192 kbps – 30 Mbps
